On the 19th and 20th of June 2015 Koyo Deutschland GmbH participated successfully in the Phaeton Expo, Kazakhstan.

In preparations for this great event, Phaeton scheduled a forum for all their business partners and suppliers the day before the start of the official in-house trade fair.

The forum was a great opportunity to inform their suppliers about the current economic situation in Kazakhstan and Phaeton’s mid-term plans in order to sustain and increase their sales growth.

The forum ended with a partnership award for Koyo which was handed over by the president of Phaeton Mr. Marat Shotbayev quoting; ‘the award is given to Koyo for their excellent service and cooperation and to honor the young but successful partnership between Koyo and Phaeton.

Phaeton is an important business partner for Koyo in Kazakhstan and is renowned for their qualities in developing complete solutions for the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles since 2004. This also includes the wholesale distribution of spare parts and diagnostic equipment of global manufacturers for every Auto parts store, service station, boutique in the mall or container in the open market in more than twenty cities in Kazakhstan. Phaeton works with Premium Brand suppliers like Koyo, ZF, Bosch, Mahle, etc. Their mission is to provide their business partners with high quality products and services within the shortest possible time against affordable prices. Their technical teams are also organizing in-house trainings on a regular basis for their customers.

The Phaeton Expo was a great success and well visited. It was a great opportunity for us to position our Koyo brand into the Kazakh market and explain visitors more about our capabilities and the Quality and Application of Koyo products.

Bearing 3D
FAQ

What is an angular contact ball bearing?

An angular contact ball bearing uses axially asymmetric races. An axial load passes in a straight line through the bearing, whereas a radial load takes an oblique path that tends to want to separate the races axially. So the angle of contact on the inner race is the same as that on the outer race. Angular contact bearings better support "combined loads" (loading in both the radial and axial directions) and the contact angle of the bearing should be matched to the relative proportions of each. The larger the contact angle (typically in the range 10 to 45 degrees), the higher the axial load supported, but the lower the radial load. In high speed applications, such as turbines, jet engines, and dentistry equipment, the centrifugal forces generated by the balls changes the contact angle at the inner and outer race. Ceramics such as silicon nitride are now regularly used in such applications due to their low density (40% of steel). These materials significantly reduce centrifugal force and function well in high temperature environments. They also tend to wear in a similar way to bearing steel—rather than cracking or shattering like glass or porcelain.

Most bicycles use angular-contact bearings in the headsets because the forces on these bearings are in both the radial and axial direction.
